Elias Haddad (1938–2004), Fouad's younger brother, left for São Paulo in 1966 with a cousin's address and a trade in fabric. He ran a shop on Rua 25 de Março for thirty years and wrote to Teta every month of them.

Work
He started by carrying bolts of cloth door to door, opened a stall in 1970 and a shop in 1974, and sold the fabric for half the weddings in his part of the city. His Portuguese, by his own account, was excellent; his letters suggest otherwise, and delightfully.
Family
He married in Brazil and had three children who speak Arabic with a Brazilian accent. He came back for one harvest, in 1988, and climbed the big tree to prove he still could.
Stories about them
