The quilt Ruth's mother made for her wedding in 1951, from feed sacks and old dresses — and why the family knows whose dress every square was.

The story
“Feed came in printed cotton sacks then, and you picked the sack for the pattern. Mother saved them for two years. Then she added a square from every Sunday dress the girls had grown out of, and she made Ruth say whose each one was before she'd let her take it home.”
How it came down to us
Linda tells it whenever the quilt comes out, which is every time there is a new baby. Her son Josh wrote it down in 2021.
What people disagree about
Whether the yellow square was Aunt June's or Aunt Ellen's. Both of them claimed it until they died.
